If you’ve been running all fall, it’s time to get out there and run a real race for a little friendly competition and community camaraderie! If you haven’t registered yet, sign up for the Newton Turkey Trot which is taking place the Saturday before Thanksgiving, on Nov. 20.
You can choose between two race lengths—either a mile if you want to keep it light and fun, or a 5K if you’re looking for something a little more challenging. Both races begin and end at Zervas Elementary School and loops around Commonwealth Avenue, City Hall, and Bristol Road, just to name a few highlights. You can see the full course online to prep or maybe even run it before the race to get familiar!
Registration is $35 for the 5K and $25 for the 1-mile fun run. All proceeds go toward supporting the Newton Food Pantry who provides food for those in need in our community and Journey Forward, a local nonprofit providing rehabilitation programs for those who have survived severe spinal cord injuries.
